Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I have recently returned from a week-long House of Bishops meeting at Camp Allen in Texas. This meeting, like others before it, provided a time of fellowship and prayer, a chance for bishops to know one another better and an opportunity for them to discuss the state of our church. Each day featured morning and evening prayer; each day was centered around the Eucharist. I can report to you that, three years into my episcopate, I feel truly and fully a part of the House of Bishops. My fellow bishops are not only colleagues but also friends and partners. My time spent with them surely enriches my mission here in Florida.

MINUTES - FEBRUARY VESTRY MEETING
St. Peter’s Church - February 12, 2007
Fr George Young opened the meeting at 6 pm. Present: The Rev. Lisa Flores, Neil Blalock, Ed Grissom, Ben Stephens, Cheryl Smith, Francis Flood, Early McCall, Trey Warren, Cathy Kaltenbach, Neil Frink, Mary Lynn Torchia, Norma Norris, Ed Grissom, and David Lott.

Vestry “Thank You’s”:
1) Dan Roach and all who participated in and contributed to making the Oyster Roast and Silent Auction the most successgful ever!!
2) Emmitt Coakley, and facilitators Neil Frink and Early McCall - for their contribution to and participation in the adult Christian formation hour (Feb 11) observances of Black history month.
3) Thomas Morrison (for sharing) and the Youth who participated in the wonderful music and liturgy of Youth Sunday (Feb 4).
4) Aaron Morgan and the Randy Bell family for helping organize the Episcopals on the Go hocky game outing.

Dear friends in Christ,
I attended the funeral recently of a wonderful priest named Fr. Jack Flynn from Jacksonville (golfers – this is obviously a different Jack Flynn, who is very much alive!). At this moving service, we sang Hymn #10, which I hadn’t sung before. John Keble, a 19th century English priest, wrote the words. Here is the last verse:
Only, O Lord, in thy dear love,
Fit us for perfect rest above;
And help us, this and every day,
To live more nearly as we pray.
