This being our Sesquicentennial, we built a float for the annual Shrimp Festival Parade. We thought sure we would win first prize, but didn’t. But we all had a great time planning, building, decorating, and riding. Well, only two of us got to ride and wave at the crowd.

 Internationally known jazz artists Richie Cole (saxophone) and Markus Printup (trumpet), backed the Dynamic Les DeMerle Big Band. Here they play a duet during the Amelia Island Jazz Festival on Saturday evening, in the courtyard at St. Peter’s Church, to a music-loving, overflow crowd.

| During the Amelia Book Island Festival (October 5 -October 8), St. Peter’s hosted one of the seminars. Authors (from left) Claire Matturro, Brad Thor and Steve Berry presented their seminar, Winning Characters, to fans who love a series of books. The authors told how they keep readers coming back for more. Their seminar was held that Saturday, in Room 201 of the Christian Education Building. |
