What's New on the Web Site

Calendar Added

— Posted by W.G. Hayes on 06/01/05 and filed under What's New On Site

Today we added a calendar to the web site. This calendar can be accessed simply by going to http://stpetersparish.org/calendar. Or you can use the Calendar item on the pull-down menu from any page on the parish web site.

Letters from the Bishop added as a Category

— Posted by W.G. Hayes on 04/06/05 and filed under What's New On Site

We have posted several letters from Bishop Howard lately, so it seemed a good idea to add a new category in the “blog” portion of our web site. That way his letters will remain for an indefinite period of time, allowing one to go back and review them in light of new events in the church.

Your comments about this and other features of our site are welcome. We are still looking for volunteers to provide the various schedules for the web site, as well as other contributions of content.

Liturgical Calendar Links Added

— Posted by W.G. Hayes on 01/20/05 and filed under What's New On Site

We have added the liturgical calendar to the worship page. Now you can know what the lessons are for this Sunday or for future Sundays. Rather than reinvent the wheel, we have provided links to a very nice Episcopal Liturgical Calendar at another web site.

Directions to St. Peter’s and Campus Map

Today we added a page with a map of the area and a map of our campus. This is accessed from the pull-down menu under Worship, or from a link on the worship page.

That was way last October. In July, 2005, we moved the campus map and switched to a Google map that is nicer, will provide a satellite image, and will give directions from anywhere to the church. The links for the Google Map and the Campus Map have changed, and on the pull-down menu the maps are reached under About Us /Our Facilities.

Schedules Added

— Posted by W.G. Hayes on 09/22/04 and filed under What's New On Site

Today we have added schedules for the Bread Patrol, Greeters, and the Altar Guild. By tomorrow we hope to add the schedules for Acolytes, Chalice Bearers, Lectors, Intercessors, and Ushers.

Keeping these schedules up-to-date will be the challenge. Harrison Neal has volunteered to send us the acolytes schedule each month. We are hoping to find a member of each ministry to do the same.

Providing the schedule in a form we can use involves a little typing in Notepad, the free text editor provided with Windows. No knowledge of HTML or programming is required.
