Overview

Purpose:

Take communion to those unable to attend regular services so that they can participate in our worship community. Remember, that it is not just giving communion to the sick. It is a reminder to the person, the family, the nurses, and aides that they are still part of the body of Christ’s church in general and St. Peter’s in particular

How do I arrange for communion in the home or hospital?

  • If you or someone you know is homebound or in the hospital and would like to receive communion, notify the Reverend George Young at 261-4360, or FAX (904) 277-1617.

Is this ministry for me?

  • Contact our Rector, George Young (261-4360) or call Margaret Tassey at 491-1135.
  • Make arrangements to go out with the Lay Eucharistic Minister on a few Sundays. You can see what this ministry is like.

Time Involved:

3 to 4 hours on Sunday about once a month plus 2 hours at a quarterly meeting.

Requirements:

  • Communicant in good standing
  • Attend diocesan training class
  • Licensed by Diocese

Benefits:

  • One on one direct ministry
  • Recipients look forward to your coming
  • Short, structured visits
