Overview

Music is a vital part of worship at St. Peter’s. There are threegroups in which you can faithfully sing (or play) praises to God: TheChancel Choir, The Folk Choir, and The Festival Choir. Our worship isrichly enhanced through music, utilizing a variety of musical styles.For an exciting experience in liturgy and song, consider joining one ofthe musical groups at St. Peter’s.

The Chancel Choir

Leading worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 is the Chancel Choir.This choir is open to all voices. No audition is required – just adesire to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” – and a willingness tolearn. Anthems sung by the chancel choir are from many differentperiods and styles. The choir also enjoys social events such asseasonal parties and covered dish dinners. Come and join us!up graphic

If you have a musical gift, share it with others. If you enjoysinging or playing an instrument, there are many ways to serve ourLord. If you would like to play an instrument or sing with one of themusical groups, get in touch with Jan Smith or Early McCall.

The Folk Choir and Folk Mass Group

picture of Folk ChoirThe Folk Choir sometimes leads worship for the 10:30 service, including monthly Folk Mass. This choir sings music from several differenttraditions- folk, contemporary, renewal, gospel and spirituals —blending them together into a unique St. Peter’s style. For Folk Massservices, instrumentalists accompany the singers on guitar, harmonica,percussion, and keyboard, and always welcome additional players.

The Folk Choir and Folk Mass Group are open to all parishioners interested in praising God through music.

Tuesday night, 7:00 - 8:30

The Festival Choir

The Festival Choir combines the Chancel and Folk Choirs to leadworship for special services during the Christmas and Holy Week/Easterseasons and for other special services as needed. New voices are alwayswelcome to join this group, especially those who may not be able tocommit to a choir on a regular basis. Contact Jan Smith for moreinformation.


organ window imageThe Hillyer organ window located in the chancel near the organ is dedicated to Cora Olive Avery Hillyer (1855-1905) & Charles Virgil Hillyer (1842-1910) and to Oveida Kennard Hillyer (1887-1965) & Frank Clifton Hillyer (1884-1968).
