Music and Choirs
Overview | Chancel Choir | Instrumentalists | Folk Choir/Folk Mass | Festival Choir

Let every instrument be tuned for praise!
Let all rejoice who have a voice to raise!
And may God give us faith to sing always
Alleluia!

Overview
Music is a vital part of worship at St. Peter’s. There are three groups in which you can faithfully sing (or play) praises to God: The Chancel Choir, The Folk Choir, and The Festival Choir. Our worship is richly enhanced through music, utilizing a variety of musical styles. For an exciting experience in liturgy and song, consider joining one of the musical groups at St. Peter’s.

The Chancel Choir
Leading worship on Sunday mornings at 11:15 is the Chancel Choir. This choir is open to all voices. No audition is required – just a desire to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” – and a willingness to learn. Anthems sung by the chancel choir are from many different periods and styles. The choir also enjoys social events such as seasonal parties and covered dish dinners. Come and join us!![]()
Chancel Choir Rehearsals:
Wednesday, 7:00 - 8:30 PM, August - June

Instrumentalists
If you have a musical gift, share it with others. If you enjoy singing or playing an instrument, there are many ways to serve our Lord. If you would like to play an instrument or sing with one of the musical groups, get in touch with Jan Smith or Early McCall.
The Folk Choir and Folk Mass Group
The Folk Choir leads worship for the 8:45 service, including Folk Mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. This choir sings music from several different traditions- folk, contemporary, renewal, gospel and spirituals — blending them together into a unique St. Peter’s style. For Folk Mass services, instrumentalists accompany the singers on guitar, harmonica, percussion, and keyboard, and always welcome additional players.
The Folk Choir and Folk Mass Group are open to all parishioners interested in praising God through music.
Folk Choir/Folk Mass Rehearsals:
Tuesday night, 7:00 - 8:30
The Festival Choir
The Festival Choir combines the Chancel and Folk Choirs to lead worship for special services during the Christmas and Holy Week/Easter seasons and for other special services as needed. New voices are always welcome to join this group, especially those who may not be able to commit to a choir on a regular basis. Contact Jan Smith for more information.
