The Reverend Doug Hudson
Interim Rector
Father Doug was born and raised in New England. His introduction to the Episcopal Church came through a summer camp in Maine and a boarding school in New Hampshire.
Having a desire to see other parts of the country besides the northeast, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating in 1972 with a BA in Psychology. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps, and went on to serve for 9½ years, mostly as an aviator. He left the Corps in 1981 to attend the Virginia Theological Seminary. After graduation, he was ordained to the deaconate in 1984 and to the priesthood in 1985.
He has served churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. In the midst of all this, he met, fell madly in love with, and married his wonderful wife, Debbie (they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2023) and have three incredible sons, Brad, Ben, and Gray.
